SWAT

The primary purpose of the Tactical Paramedic Team is to enhance the mission of saving lives through the use of tactically trained paramedics who are capable of providing immediate advanced life support for bystanders, hostages, deputies, and suspects. Attaching paramedics to the Unified Police Department SWAT team eliminates the need for patients/victims to wait while a hostile situation is stabilized; instead, life saving efforts can commence immediately providing timely and critical service to the community and its citizens.

The UFA’s Tactical Paramedic Team currently consists of one Battalion Chief/Team Leader, one Assistant Team Leader/Paramedic, and eight other tactically trained and operational Paramedics. All team members have successfully completed the same selection process that UPS’s Deputies complete in order to become members of the Unified Police Department/Taylorsville/Unified Fire Authority SWAT Team.
