Fire Suppression

The moment someone calls 9-1-1, our job begins. UFA is staffed with over 100 personnel daily that are ready to respond to calls of help. Our firefighters are well-trained individuals with diverse and specialized skills to meet the needs of an emergency situation.

Once a fire starts, it grows rapidly with each passing second destroying property and threatening lives. Mitigating a fire is dangerous and requires personal protective clothing, specialized equipment and several trained personal. Responding to a fire is hard work and is very complex. The officer on scene oversees the operation to ensure suppression and firefighter safety. UFA responded to over 7,200 fire calls in 2014.
